Jug Scope ("the App") is developed and operated by Airworthy Labs LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App and this website.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Mailing address
Aircraft Information
When you add an aircraft to your profile:
- Tail number (N-number)
- Aircraft make, model, and year
- Engine make and model
- Number of cylinders
Aircraft details are verified against the FAA aircraft registry, which is public information.
Inspection Data
When you perform inspections:
- Inspection dates
- Per-cylinder and per-inspection notes
- Capture timestamps
- Borescope images (stored locally on your device)
Device Information
The following information may be embedded in image EXIF metadata when you capture images:
- Device model
- GPS coordinates (only if you have granted location permission)
- Capture date and time
Website Analytics
This website may use analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. The App does not include any analytics SDK.
Where Your Data Is Stored
On Your Device
All borescope images and inspection data are stored locally on your iPad or iPhone. Images are not uploaded anywhere without your explicit action.
iCloud (Apple CloudKit)
If you use iCloud sync, the following data is synced across your devices through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure:
- User profile information
- Aircraft profiles
- Trial and subscription status
- Inspection metadata (not images)
Apple manages CloudKit data under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Savvy Aviation
When you explicitly choose to upload an inspection to Savvy Aviation, your borescope images and associated metadata (aircraft tail number, inspection date, view labels) are transmitted to Savvy Aviation's servers. This only happens when you initiate an upload. Savvy Aviation's handling of this data is governed by Savvy Aviation's Privacy Policy.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not share your data with third parties, except Savvy Aviation when you explicitly request an upload.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not include advertising SDKs or third-party trackers in the App.
Third-Party Services
The App and website use the following third-party services:
- Apple CloudKit (iCloud) — cloud sync of profile and inspection metadata
- Apple StoreKit — subscription management and purchase verification
- Savvy Aviation API — user-initiated image uploads only
Data Retention
Your inspection data remains on your device for as long as you keep it. We do not maintain copies of your borescope images on our servers. CloudKit data is retained as long as your iCloud account is active.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- In the App: Delete individual inspections, aircraft profiles, or your entire account from Settings.
- By email: Request complete data deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will delete all CloudKit data associated with your account within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Jug Scope is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email.
